The workshop will provide theoretical education and in-person training to scientists, physicians, surgeons and technicians who have an interest in the field of beta cell replacement therapy and regenerative medicine. Participants will improve their knowledge on islet isolation and transplantation, learn novel techniques and have the opportunity to network with like-minded peers and renowned experts.

AUDIENCE
Heart/lung physicians and surgeons, perfusionists, nurses and anaesthesiologists involved in solid organ transplantation.

OBJECTIVES
The aim of this webinar is to learn about the current status of the different platforms available for ex-vivo perfusion of intrathoracic organs, their indications and future perspectives. In the first part of the webinar, focused on lung perfusion, specific therapies to eliminate HCV transmission, different strategies to optimise lung quality and biomarkers to predict lung function after exvivo will be presented. The second module will provide an update on cardiac exvivo perfusion systems.
